Welcome to
Marv Slind's
web page at
Luther College

I am Professor Emeritus of History at Luther College. The main reason this page was created was to provide links to my course materials. Each of my courses had a separate web site with specific course materials. But since I retired at the end of the 2013 academic year, I no longer have courses for which to post materials. I am leaving one old course up, however, as I occasionally get questions about it, since it was not "your ordinary history course."

In January term 2012, and again in January term 2013, I taught a "First Year Seminar," History 185 -- "From Mobile to Margaritaville: Human Geography in the Music and Fiction of Jimmy Buffett."

My most recent publications are

Linka's Diary:
An Immigrant Story
