Blood cell types have two broad categories: red and white. Red cells are also know as erythrocytes. White cells are also known as Leukocytes. There are three types of white cells: granulocytes, lymphocytes, and monocytes. Granulocytes have four types: basophils, eosophils, neutrophils, and masts. Lymphocytes have two type: B and T cells. They are essential components of body's adaptive immune response. Both types of cells (B and T) have precursors that develop in the bone marrow. T cells develop in the Thymus from the T-cell precursors.
